DISCOVER the World of Career Options.

Discover is a comprehensive web-based career-planning program that can help you learn more about yourself and the world of work. The program has many components, including:

  • Self-assessments to help you learn more about your interests, values, and preferences
  • An occupations database with information about numerous careers
  • Information about different college majors and schools
  • Tips to help you with the job search (resumes, cover letters, interviewing)

How do I access DISCOVER?

The Discover site is licensed to the OSU campus through UESP and Career Services. Any OSU student may use Discover, but first you must contact either Career Services (737-4085) or UESP (737-8144 or via email) to get a "token," which is a code that gives you access to the program. When you receive a token, log into the system at http://webapps01.act.org/eDISCOVER/. Once you have accessed Discover for the first time, you can access the program whenever and wherever you wish.

How can DISCOVER help?

Discover will not tell you what to do or give you easy answers, but it can be an invaluable tool in helping you learn more about yourself and how you fit into the world of work. After you use Discover, you may find it helpful to discuss what you've learned with a Career Services advisor or a UESP advisor.
