Rolf Fare and Shawna Grosskopf appeared on ISI's list of the 250 most cited scientists in Economics/Business. No other economist in Oregon is on the list.


New faculty appointments for Fall 2008:

Qinglai Meng, Ph.D. from New York University and Associate Professor at Chinese University of Hong Kong, will join the department as an Associate Professor. Qinglai's fields are macroeconomics and mathematical economics.


Daniel Stone has completed his Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University and will join the department as an Assistant Professor. Dan's fields are microeconomics and industrial organization.


Graduate Student Placements:


Natsuko Iwasaki has been appointed Assistant Professor of Economics at SUNY-Farmingdale.


Ke Yang has been appointed assistant professor in the School of Business at the University of Hartford.


Feng Yao has been appointed assistant professor of economics at West Virginia University.
