The MU Basement is an 8,500 sq. ft. recreation facility located beneath the Commons at Oregon State University. Included among its attractions are bowling, billiards, video games, and a new TV lounge with a big screen TV. It services the University population as well as the surrounding community.
The Basement along with the upstairs Commons, recently underwent a complete remodel. This resulted in a pleasant, smoke-free atmosphere for family and student alike.

Ten lanes are available for open bowling during the day time hours. Open bowling is:
- $2.50 per game
- $1.50 per game before 2 PM
- $2.50 per game (Rock 'N Glow)
- $1.00 shoe rental

Reservations must be a minimum of $30. Friday and Saturday reservations after 9pm may be no more than 4 lanes unless you are reserving the entire center or have approval from management. Due to bowling classes, leagues, Intramurals, and other reservations, some dates and times may be unavailable to reserve.
The Basement is also featuring our newly remodeled party room which includes a bar lounge area with plasma television and is a trendy place to throw any event. Have your party catered or bring your own food, either way you’ll have a great time. Due to remodeling of the Part Room we will be taking reservations for late September, But remember to make your reservations early.
A new TV lounge has been added for comfortable viewing of sports and entertainment events, featuring the biggest TV in the MU! Enjoy your favorite show or just sit back and relax between other activities at the Basement. In addtion, all major OSU sporting events, NBA & NFL games will be shown in the TV lounge, with great bowling deals during halftime!
To help you relax we have two massage chairs located in the TV lounge:
- $1 for 3minutes
- $5 for 15 minutes
- $10 for 30 minutes
